Red Tulips

Red tulips blooming in the field
They sway ever so slightly
Whispering secrets of beauty
So only the swooping swallows
Hear them and sing to the wind...
Flowers of love - memories cherished -
Will always be dancing amidst
Red tulips - friends forevermore.

  • Hi WW

there's a nice meditative feel to this poem...very calm and reflective. I'm not sure about 'sway ever so slightly' though...is there a particular verb you could use here? or something more specific? just a thought!!!

I look forward to having a look around your blog

    all the best

  • Thanks Jo! I appreciate you stopping by. Perhaps that phrase can be tightened up. I just like the sing-songy feel to it, but I'll think about it.
